Thank you for coming to my website. Many of you have found me because of TED.com.
In November 2015, I had the pleasure of speaking at TEDxBeaconSt, a local TED event in Brookline, MA. I spoke on the Harvard longitudinal study I directed on adult life.
My thesis for the talk was simple: relationships are key.
For 75 years, my team observed how relationships are absolutely crucial to a happy and healthy life. This is age-old wisdom we often forget in our pursuit of money and fame.
Today, many people strive for money and fame, thinking these are the things that would make life meaningful. My team and I observed that many of the men we studied had these same thoughts early on. But as we tracked their lives, we discovered that their relationships, not money or fame, were what made their lives happy.
